This fully automated induction forging line ensures precise and efficient two-end heating of long solid sucker rods, typically used in oilfield applications. Here's how the system works:
After the rod is pre-cut and prepared, it is automatically conveyed into the heating station.
A motorized roller or clamping system gently transports bars up to 8–14 meters in length into position.
The system features photoelectric sensors or positioning stops to detect the correct insertion point for accurate coil alignment.
This ensures safe, stable handling of long bars and consistent performance, even during high-volume operation.
Both ends of the sucker rod are simultaneously inserted into custom-designed C-type induction coils, which heat them to the required forging temperature (typically 1100–1250°C).
Dual independent induction power modules allow separate control of each end’s heating cycle.
Equipped with infrared pyrometers and a closed-loop temperature control system, the machine ensures real-time monitoring and precise temperature regulation.
IGBT-based technology ensures efficient energy use and stable high-frequency performance.
Once both ends reach the target temperature, the rod is quickly transferred to a hydraulic press or flat die forging station for shaping.
Forging operations can include upsetting, flattening, or forming customized head shapes as per your part design.
Fast transfer reduces heat loss and improves forging consistency.
The press can be fully integrated and customized to meet different production needs and forge geometries.
After forging, the rod is automatically moved to a cooling section, which may use air or water cooling depending on the material and desired properties.
Cooling prevents distortion and controls the microstructure of the forged part.
Once cooled, an automatic unloading system organizes finished rods for collection or further processing such as straightening or surface inspection.

How Induction Brazing Machines Are Transforming Traditional Brazing Techniques
Jul. 14, 2025
Induction brazing uses electromagnetic induction to heat metal parts and melt a filler metal to create strong, clean joints. The process involves a high-frequency alternating current passing through a coil, generating a magnetic field that induces heat in the workpiece.
What is the difference between induction hardening and quenching?
Jun. 24, 2025
In the field of metal heat treatment, two commonly referenced processes are induction hardening and quenching. While both methods aim to improve the hardness and wear resistance of metal components, they differ significantly in principles, applications, and equipment.
