Categories of Induction Hardening & Tempering System
Jul. 09, 2016
According to the differences of artifact performance requirement and temperature, the categories of induction hardening and tempering system are as following.
1.Low-temperature induction heating (150-250°C)
The purpose of low-temperature induction tempering is to reduce the quenching stress and brittleness to avert cracking and premature failure on the premise of keeping the hardened steel's high hardness and high wear resistance. It is mainly used for all kinds of high carbon cutting tool, measuring tool, cold punching mold, rolling bearing and carburizing, etc. The hardness after tempering is HRC58-64.
2.Medium-temperature induction tempering (350-500°C)
Medium-temperature induction tempering is mainly used for the induction heat treatment of various springs and hot-working die materials. It makes metal get high yield strength, highest elastic and high toughness. The hardness after tempering is HRC35-50.
3.High-temperature induction tempering (500-650°C)
Generally, induction hardening and tempering system is also called thermal refining whose function is to make metal material get better synthesized mechanical properties including strength, hardness, plasticity and toughness. Therefore, this technology is widely used to manufacture important structure parts of automobile, tractor, machine tool. The hardness after tempering is HB200-330.
